Two disciplines, one product

Craftmark was jointly conceived and developed by a husband-and-wife founding team combining technology, product development, UX and service design.

Individual founder profiles will be published after names, roles and biographies are approved. No personal details are invented for this prototype.

PLAIN LANGUAGE

Terms like "passport", "verification" and "evidence" are used loosely across the industry. These are the definitions Craftmark holds itself to.

Product passport: A structured public record of one thing a workshop makes: materials, dimensions, finishes, country of production, lead time, warranty, repairability, and care. It is a voluntary information record, not a statutory ESPR digital product passport and not a certificate.
Custom order passport: The same structure narrowed to one commission and one buyer, with the agreed specification, milestones, and delivery terms. It lives behind a private link rather than on a public page.
Claim: A single statement about a product or a workshop, such as the species of timber or the origin of a component. Each claim carries its own evidence level, so one well-documented claim does not make its neighbours any stronger.
Evidence level: How much backing a claim has: self-declared by the maker, supported by an uploaded document, reviewed by Craftmark, or certified by an independent third party. The level is shown next to the claim, never averaged away into a single score.
Evidence document: A private file behind a claim, such as a supplier invoice or a certification PDF. Public pages show its filename and SHA-256 checksum so the record can be matched later; the file itself is not downloadable from a public page.
Review: A person at Craftmark reading a submitted document and recording what they could and could not confirm, with a date. A review is not an audit, an inspection, or an accreditation, and its stated limitations are published alongside it.
