Craftmark exists to help Europe’s small workshops and independent craftspeople thrive. Handmade, made-to-order work carries skill, care, and provenance that mass production can’t — yet it is the hardest to trust from a distance. We give makers an honest way to show what stands behind their work, so buyers can back local artisans with confidence.

Why I started Craftmark

Honestly? It started after I got burned. I sent a deposit for a custom-made piece, trusting the photos and the friendly messages — and what came back wasn't quite what we'd agreed, with no real way to check who I was dealing with beforehand. It wasn't a catastrophe, but it was enough to show me how exposed buyers are with made-to-order work, and how little an honest maker has to prove they are the real deal. Craftmark is the tool I wish I'd had.

Why local makers matter

Across Europe, small workshops keep rare skills, regional materials, and repairable, long-lived design alive. They sustain local economies and a more circular way of making — yet they compete against mass production that is cheaper to produce and easier to trust at a glance. We think that imbalance is worth fixing.

What we do

Craftmark turns a maker's knowledge — materials, origin, care, repairability, and warranty — into a clear, shareable product passport, with honest evidence levels and a QR code buyers can keep. We don't hand out guarantees; we make honest disclosure easy, so buyers can choose custom, local work with confidence.

Protecting both sides

Trust has to cut both ways. Buyers get honest disclosure — materials, origin, evidence levels, warranty, and clear delivery terms — before they ever send a deposit, instead of relying on a stranger's word and a few photos. Makers get a fair way to prove they are legitimate and to stand behind their work: a verifiable public record, buyer details that stay private unless shared with consent, and an immutable evidence snapshot of what was agreed. We set out to protect an honest maker's reputation just as much as a buyer's deposit.

European by design

Europe's makers and their buyers deserve infrastructure that respects them. Craftmark is built and hosted in the EU, with data kept in the EU and no third-country trackers — privacy and data protection are part of the product, not an afterthought.
